Background, Education, Teaching Experience:
My name is Nic Haibach. I studied, a.o., English literature and grammar in Heidelberg and Berlin (MA), started teaching and translating while still at university and gathered much experience as a tutor with most known tuition institutes, among them Klett and Studienkreis, to name but a few.
I have travelled to Ireland, Wales and England time and time again, then organised short trips for students to help them foster their language skills in the country. Professionally and privately my connections with life in Dublin, Cardiff and London have remained close and I quite like being the tourist guide when there.
Nevertheless, I also teach German as a foreign language.
These days, I mostly work with people from abroad, accompanying migrants to offices and altogether through situations they may find difficult in a perhaps completely new cultural setting.
Teaching and coaching young, talented and ambitious people from Albania, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Eritrea a.s.o. has turned out a very rewarding and fulfilling task.
Since the beginning of war in Europe, I have been focusing on German classes for Ukrainian women.

The-Nickelodeon, concept:
A brand name like The-Nickelodeon contains a blend of many ideas, beginning with a part of the nick-name I got in my last year at school, over my love for stage arts to the combination of various inspiring methods when teaching, not unlike the multitude of sounds coming from the instrument Nickelodeon or that coin-operated orchestrion, a predecessor of jukeboxes. In my tuition and coaching I combine impro-acting and body work with audio experience and vocal coaching, meditative exercise with focused learning intervals, and last but not least, learning material especially developed for the individual needs and interests of my students. So what you get is a very active, yet relaxed learning experience that often leads you away from the desk, your vocabulary cards or grammar books and towards every-day situations in the foreign language, through role play and outdoor activity. According to my students' wishes, these methods will be applied in full or only partly, depending on the learning type and personality you are. Furthermore, I support you - if need be - 24/7, via ZOOM chat or video; you can rely on my assistance in the foreign language. So when booking, you meet with linguistic professionality, pleasant patience in session, boundless creativity and a good sense of humour, and finally, an individual training programme you can take with you after the course to repeat on your own.
